Market Confused

Looks like the stock markets are entering another phase of being upside down and confused. With oil over 104 and markets at highs there are no underlying fundamentals aside from global investment to support the rise, and yet, we are still poise to go higher. This is a good time to sideline and watch until stocks settle. Bad time to invest.

TMP Monthly Forecast
February 2011

Forecast: Bullish

The gains that we have seen in January are going to continue to rise in the month of February, with some of the major moves occuring in the first trading week and the last trading week. Overall, we should continue to see gains, slowly through the month. Positions that are still open from January should be held through February to maximize the gains. Expect to see another move up this month.

GM STOCK BLAH

Picks | Posted by TMPDynomite
Jan 05 2011

GM stock is likely going to do pretty poorly going forward in th first two quarters of this year. As they again have gotten it wrong with their lineup. Amazing how after a government bail-out of tax payer money all they have managed to do is to continue to make cars an trucks that do not fit th lifestyles of th American public, evidenced by their introduction of yet more large vehicles amidst a flurry of governmental an statistical reports that say that gas is going to sniff $4 a barrel this year. Gm Comes out with a ” smaller” SUV. As if. We expect this stock to do poorly and will be taking opportunities to short this stock after any big run up throughout the first two quarters this year.

Year End Wrap Up and 2011 Outlook With Jan 2011 Monthly

Dec 22 2010

2010 was a very interesting year for the stock market. WIth a diverse amount of activity early in the year, and then a lull in the second quarter which wiped a lot of revenue off the table, it was a year that was full of ups and downs, but for blue chips and companies infused with government money…it was mostly ups. 2010 was a good year to buy stocks that you plan to hold on to for 3-5 or longer periods. There is unlikely going to be a better opportunity than 2010 to get near the bottom of most stock’s pricing as we go forward into the next few years, as a whole.

That being said, 2011 is likely to be a wildly volatile bull market year. We are expecting rampant volatility with big market swings which will overall lead to gains in the domestic markets. We will be increasing our margins and trading less aggressively in order not to stop out on these major market swings with the stocks that we will be trading short term. For the stocks we trade long term, it’s going to be a progressive growth year, and likely a year where we will see major gains across the board.

DOW Target: 12800 by 2011 end
NAS Target: 3200 by 2011 end

Yes, we feel that it’s completely possible to see these levels touched throughout the year. We believe that the greatest gains will be in precious metals, especially gold, silver, copper, and palladium, as well as Treasuries, and Emerging Market Funds that include Brazil, or India.

January 2011 is likely to be a year that starts off with profit taking, and then comes back for an overall gain for the month. There is a small chance that this profit taking will begin during the last week of 2010, so watch for that paradigm as well, to affect the month of January. If it does, then it’s more likely that Jan will be more bullish than expected.

TMP Monthly Forecaster
November 2010
BULLISH

With election day at the beginning of trading this month, we’re likely going to see quite a bit of volume and volatility around the first week. If GOP wins the mid term election control, then we are likely going to see a rampid push to the upside. Contrary to what popular bearish pundits believe, the GOP win is not cooked into the DOW already, and we will with Trillions still on the sidelines, that we are prepared for a bullish run that may see the DOW reach the mid 11000’s and perhaps be enough to even let us sit there, creating a new bottom in the 11k range. NAS sitting pretty with delicious volume lately, returning to normal trading ranges, we may even see a 27-2800 handle on NAS over next month or so.

TMP Monthly Forecast September 2010

Main | Posted by TMPDynomite
Sep 12 2010

September is likely to be BEARISH overall. Although we do not forecast RAMPID bearishness, we do see an overall bearish tend in store. This will be accompanied by decidedly sideways trading, which will be a good setup for a strong 4th quarter. The market has held itself together for the most part over the summer, which is on track with our forecasts for the year so far. The remaining month of September in the “transition” period between summer and 4th quarter is likely to depict and foretell the remainder of the year.
